About Mav's Corner

Hi. I'm Mavs.

I am an IT professional and graphic/layout artist based in Surigao City, Philippines. By day I manage systems and troubleshoot networks for a government agency. After hours I design product labels and packaging for local MSMEs — small businesses trying to get their products off the kitchen table and onto actual store shelves.

Two jobs. One common thread: I solve problems for a living. This blog is where I apply that same thinking to everyday life.

Why I Started Writing

Honestly? Money. And a trash bin.

Back in 2008, just before I graduated college, I watched people earn real money selling plastic materials at the junk shop. It hit me — if there is money in literal trash, how much more is there on the internet?

So I started blogging. First came Mav's Healthy Tips for health content, then MavTech for technology — because someone told me niche-focused blogs were the right track. And they were right. The problem was I was broke and could not maintain the cost of two or three separate domains simultaneously.

So I merged everything into Mav's Corner — one place where I could write whatever came to mind, document my personal growth, and eventually maybe earn something extra to support my family. That last part is still the dream.

I have been struggling to write consistently since 2008. Still here though. Still writing.

If you are reading this — that means a lot. More than you probably know.
